Donald R. King

Donald King         Donald R. King, of Sunman, was born on November 19, 1940, in Danville, Kentucky, to Leroy and Geneva Simpson King, Sr. Upon graduating from high school, Donald joined the Army National Guard. He was also employed as a diesel mechanic, most recently at Roth Ready Mix. On August 5, 1989, Donald was wedded to Shirley Anne Crane. He was known to be a hard worker and enjoyed spending his free time with his family. On Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at the age of 75, Donald passed away at Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville, Indiana.

Those surviving who will cherish Donald’s memory include his wife, Shirley; his son, Daniel Ray (Kristina) King of Burlington, KY; three grandsons: Blake, Logan, and Derrick King; two great-grandsons: Camden and Damian King; step-children: Kimberly Martin of Hamilton, OH, and Larry Martin of Tucson, AZ; three step-grandchildren; and siblings, Norma Green of Sunman, and Leroy King, Jr. of Sevierville, TN. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Richard Anthony King; his first wife, Patricia Ann King; and a step-sister, Theresa Brown.

Friends may visit with Donald’s family on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 8930 State Road 101 North, Sunman, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 noon. Reverend Bill Helms will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
