DILLSBORO, Ind. – The Dillsboro Town Council is naming Seth Elder as the new town manager.

Elder previously worked for Indiana Landmarks, a statewide nonprofit foundation dedicated to historic preservation and community revitalization.

Town officials say Elder has working knowledge of the tools available to local governments for redevelopment efforts, such as TIF districting to tax credits.

Elder states, “Through innovative planning and professional management, the utilization of these tools can make up for the lack of a large economic base and ensure that rural communities such as Dillsboro remain vibrant and livable places well into the future.”

He is a 2008 graduate of DePauw University and working towards his Master of Science in Historic Preservation from Ball State University.
