Dallas Hollin Sr., age 75

HOLLIN SR., DALLAS

Dallas Hollin Sr, age 75 passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 at his home in Delaware, IN. Born October 26, 1940 in Clay Co., KY he was the son of Elbert & Lucinda (Henson) Hollin.

Dallas worked at sawmills and was a master sawer. He has worked at Hope Lumber Comp. as a truck driver hauling chips, in Greensburg at Mitchell Veneer and lastly in Whitesburg, KY.

Dallas’ family reflected that he was a “hard working man”, as many would remember him jokingly saying so, but he truly did work hard to provide for his family. He was a wonderful father who always put his children first.  He loved his family.  He was a man of his word.  If he told you something, you could count on it being the truth.  He loved to go squirrel hunting and fishing.  He loved the outdoors.  Mowing grass was one of his favorite past-times.  He liked to keep his yard looking nice and was proud of his home.  Dallas was a big man with a big heart and we are proud that he is our father.

Dallas is survived by his children Jeff Hollin, Grant Hollin (Lisa), Mary Redd, Amanda Griffin (David), Brian Hollin (Ashley), Travis Hollin (Lisa) and Teresa Medeiros (Ralph). He will also be missed by his 22 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, sisters Stella Olvey (Frank), Eunice Meyer (Wally) & Loretta Hubbard (Robert) along with his brothers-in law Maynard Smith & Harold Koors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Dallas Hollin Jr. and sisters Betty Smith & Janet Koors.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 14, 2016 from 1:00pm – 3:00pm followed by services at 3:00pm at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN with Rev. David Johnston officiating. Burial will follow services in Rossburg Cemetery in New Point, IN.  Memorials are suggested to A.L. S. c/o Meyers Funeral Home, P.O.
