Covell Mills

MillsWell known area farmer and land developer Covell Mills, 63 of Dillsboro passed away Friday January 22, 2016 at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Covell was born Monday November 17, 1952 in Milan the son of Denver and Viola (Broughton) Mills. He married Connie (Cleeter) Mills March 14, 1981 and she survives. Covell graduated from Milan High School in 1971 and Purdue University in 1974. Covell was a member of the Dillsboro Investment Club and a former member of the Ripley County Planning Commission. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, quad riding, grilling, playing cards, and telling jokes to his family and to the guys around the table at the Reservation. Covell loved spending time with his family and friends.
Covell is survived by wife: Connie Mills of Dillsboro, daughter: Sarah Mills of Milwaukee, WI; son: Tyler Mills and fiancée: Jessica Stark of Indianapolis, father: Denver Mills of Dillsboro, sisters: Maxine (Ron) Gall of Cincinnati and Charlene (Jerry) Olson of Kokomo, IN. He was preceded in death his mother: Viola Mills, brother: Dennis Mills, nephew: Jeff Kersey.
Funeral services will be at 10:00AM Thursday January 28, 2016 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, with Rev. Brent Raitz officiating. Burial will follow in New Craven Cemetery south of Milan. Visitation will be 4-8PM Wednesday January 27, 2016 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Milan Scholarship Fund, Milan Fire Department or Dillsboro Fire Department.
