--Farmer's Market,
each Saturday from 8 to noon in the Batesville downtown square, Open until fall. A special report will be featured on WRBI between 8 and 9 a.m. on Saturdays.

July 3
--Ripley County Chamber of Commerce
Fireworks Night, noon to ???, food available, music by local artists at 6 p.m., remote control truck races.

--Ice Cream Social, 4 to 7 p.m, First Baptist church of Milan.

--Franklin County Citizens Input Committee, 7 p.m, Franklin County Government Center, regarding the proposed zoning code.

--Coffee social, St. John's Lutheran church of Napoleon, Serving starts at 4:30 p.m. Menu: ham, German hot potato salad, coffee cakes. Everyone is welcome. 

--Fireworks at Hillcrest Country Club in Batesville, dusk. 

July 4
--Four on the Fourth race. Register at Batesville Christian Church at SR 46 and Columbus Avenue. Bring items for the food pantry. $15 registration fee. Race is at 8:30 a.m. and awards for a variety of age groups. Kids run for ages 10 and under. 

--All You Can Eat Breakfast, Milan United Methodist Church, 7:30 to 10 a.m., $5 advance, $6 at the door. 

--Milan July 4th Celebration: Milan Lions Club Parade, 11 a.m, Main Street. To register: 6543763.    Pulled pork dinner, Milan Fire Dept., 11 to 2 p.m. $7 pulled pork, sides, etc.,  Classic Car Cruise In, 11 a.m., Milan VFW Post #6234. Cornhole tournament at 4 p.m, Milan Softball Club,      Dedication and renaming of the Milan park to Darin Baker Memorial Park, at the conclusion of the parade. Fireworks display.   Rain date is July 5.

--Metamora Firemen's Festival, Friday and Saturday, fish dinner Friday 3 p.m. to 8 p.m, parade is at 6 p.m, fireworks at 10 p.m., dj and karaoke by M&M 1 p.m.; Saturday dinner is fried chicken, 4 to 8 .m., live music with the baggy bottom boys from 7 to 9 p.m.,; both days: Beer garden, raffle, kids games and cornhole.         

July 4th Weekend                                                                                                                                                                                                       --Madison --Regatta. , Madison. Annual event held over Fourth of July weekend. Governor’s Cup Race, hot air balloon race, parade, beauty pageant, music, 10K run, and other events.   Riverfront in Madison. Call 265-5000.

--Aurora Firecracker Festival.    Annual Fourth of July celebration along Ohio River. Festival features live music, dancing and arts.   For dates and information, call 1-800-322-8198.

 July 5
--The Batesville Masonic Lodge #668 (F&AM)
will serve their MONTHLY 'ALL YOU CAN EAT' Breakfast 6:00AM to 10:00AM.  Minimum Donation per Adult is $5.00 and $3.50 for children 6 to 12.  Take-Out orders Call 934-3144. 

--Lake Santee July 4th Celebration, 10:30 to 2 p.m. for the Kiwanis annual bbcue, bake sale at 9 a.m, raffle too, coffee and doughnuts at 8 a.m  and flea market at 9 a.m. Raffle, including handmade quilt. Proceeds to the LSWC scholarship fund.

--The Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagles will hold a car wash on Saturday, July 5 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Integra Bank in Osgood. All proceeds will go to benefit the Lady Eagles Basketball program. Donations appreciated, $5.00 minimum.

--The Versailles State Park will celebrate the 4th of July with fireworks on July 5. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m. at the Versailles State Park. Call 689-6424.

--Brookville Volleybal Club presents Sand Volleyball tournament, 10 a.m, Cost is $70 for a team. 

July 6

Revolutionary War Soldier to be remembered, 1 p.m. St. John Lutheran Church, Hubbel's Corner, in the historic cemetery to honor Michael Ehler. He died in 1860 and was buried nearby. A light lunch will be offered at the Great Hal at noon. 

July 7 and 9:
--IU Soccer Team conducts a soccer camp for boys and girls ages 12 to 18, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Gillespie Fields in Batesville. Registration fee is $135. 

July 7
--Veteran's Club, St. Andrews Health Campus, assisted living dining room, 2 p.m, card playing, beer and pretzels will be provided. RSVP: Jannie at 934 5090.

July 10
--Free matinee at 1 p.m. at Tyson Library for adults, The Locket.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial: Moving Wall a traveling half-size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., will be open to the public Thursday, July 10, through Sunday, July 13, in Rising Sun. The memorial will be located in the soccer fields near the intersection of Grand Vic and industrial drives.

will be Friday, July 11, through Saturday, July 12. Friday’s entertainment includes the Battle of the Bands, with carriage rides, children's games and a classic car cruise set for Saturday, all in downtown Batesville. July 12
--Milan Class of 1988 20th reunion will be at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Batesville.

--N. Decatur High School will hold their 2nd multi-class reunion for classes 1968 to 1985,  4 to 11 p.m. Golf is at North Branch Golf Course; catered dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m., LIve band, Nuttin' Fancy from 7 to 11 p.m. 

--Dance, St. Leon Legion Hall, 7:30 to 11:30. Music by Gold Dust. 623 3742.

--Morris Firemen's Festival, Morris Church Grounds, garden tractor pull at 2 p.m. chicken and roast beef dinners, 4 to 8 p.m, kiddie pedal pull ages 3 to 8 starts at 6 p.m., refreshments, music by Alan Crum, raffle. Adult and kid games at 2 p.m.

--Summer Serenades: Check out the free music on the river stage at the end of Main Street in Rising Sun. Fire in the Dawn will perform at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 12.

July 13
--Ripley County Historical Society meeting, 2 p.m., archives room at Versailles, across from the courthouse. Feature program is on African Safari by Gary and Vickie Dudley of Sunman. 

July 12-13
--Kickin' Up a Cure For Jeremy, benefit co-ed kickball tournament. Proceeds go to 14 year old Jeremy Eaton, a freshman at S. Ripley and is battling lymphoma. It will be at Kohler Park. Teams need to be registered by July 9. $100 entry fee. Teams may consist of even number of men and women age 16 or older. Call Denise at  663-9099.

July 15
--Southeastern Indiana Independent Living Center's SILC meeting, 10:30, Batesville Public Library.

July 17

July 20
--St. John's Annual Festival and chicken dinner, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dinner served 11 to 5 and carryout available. Dover, Indiana.

July 21
--End of Summer YMCA 3 on 3 basketball tournament, girls and boys, beginning at age 12, adults must be 17 and older. $80 per team. Deadline is July 21.

July 23

~ Other Community Announcements  ~ 

Lifetime Resources is looking for a volunteer meal deliver for Ripley County. Must have a driver's license and reliable vehicle. Individual would be paid mileage at 45 cents per mile. Apply at 1 877 897 0472. They're also looking for a paid meal deliverer in the Osgood area. It's $6 an hour.

Shawnee Valley Dulcimer Society meets every First and third Tuesday of the month from 5 to 8 p.m. at St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Brookville. New people are welcome. Dues are $20. Questions: 765 647 5450

Fayette Regional Health System offers a prayer meeting group every Wednesday frm2 to 2:30 p.m. in the FRHS chapel in the oncology wing of the hospital. Also, open aquatics is every Monday -Friday, 7 to 8 a.m., also noon to 1 on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; 4:30 to 5:30 on Tuesday. Martial arts classes are Tuesday and Thursday 7 to 8 p.m. $5 for non members.
