Commitee Members Sought For Batesville Dog Park

City officials are planning to establish a permanent dog park at Liberty Park.

The City of Batesville Parks and Recreation Department installed a trial based, temporary dog park in August of 2013. The dog park was used by many pet owners and the feedback was very positive. The City of Batesville feels a permanent dog park would be a great addition to the park system, and an asset to the community.

The Parks Department is asking the community for help in making the permanent dog park a reality. Many obstacles have to be faced before a dog park is installed, with the major obstacle being funding.

The City of Batesville would like to form a committee of dog lovers interested in helping make the dog park a reality. The committee would meet to explore funding options, and to create a plan for a dog park that would serve the community dog lovers for many years to come.

The committee will meet as needed, and try to accommodate committee member’s schedules as much as possible. Most correspondence will be done through e mail when possible.
