LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. — Tom Talbot, Executive Director of Community Mental Health Center, Inc., Lawrenceburg, was recently named president of the Board of Directors of the Indiana Council of Community Mental Health Centers (ICCMHC).

The Indiana Council’s incoming president is selected by the Council’s sitting officers. Talbot, who has been with CMHC since 2000, was the Center’s Director of Performance Improvement & Information Management until June 2010, when he was named executive director after the retirement of former CEO Joe Stephens.

ICCMHC is a membership trade organization dedicated to serving the state’s community-based mental health providers.

Talbot is responsible for running monthly meetings of the Indiana Council as well as traveling to centers throughout the state.

“The landscape of healthcare is currently very dynamic and exciting. Issues like cost of care, increasing risk, population health management, the rise of healthcare consumerism, and, most significantly, the shifting venues in healthcare delivery all provide unique challenges to the health care field today,” said Talbot.

“Behavioral health and its role are at the forefront of many of these issues. I feel honored to be in this leadership position and look forward to working with key stakeholders as we navigate an ever-evolving industry.”
