Cheryl FrensemeierCheryl A. Frensemeier, age 61 of Batesville, Indiana, died Thursday, June 26, 2014 at her residence. Born July 14, 1952 in Batesville, she is the daughter of Delores (Nee: Raver) and Francis “Bobe” Walke. She married Michael Frensemeier May 22, 1971 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville. Cheryl was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and was a volunteer at the Sunday night bingo, V.F.W. Post #3183 Ladies Auxiliary and the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271 Ladies Auxiliary. She worked for 15 years at Hill-Rom and most recently worked in housekeeping at the Sherman House Restaurant & Inn.

Cheryl could often be found 2 – 3 times a week in devotion at the St. Louis Church Adoration Chapel. She loved to watch and listen to the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, the Indianapolis Colts, and throughout the week when she wasn’t working she would often watch her favorite soap opera, Days of Our Lives. She loved to eat popcorn, enjoyed reading, canning vegetables and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Mike; daughter and son-in-law Susan and Matthew Harpring of Batesville; sons Brian Frensemeier of Batesville, Gerald (Gary) Frensemeier of Brookville, Indiana, Lloyd Frensemeier of Evansville, Indiana; sisters Janet Maple, Joan Dwenger and Carol Baker, all of Batesville; brother Steve Walke of Batesville; grandchildren Jared, Zach and Addison Frensemeier.

Visitation is Monday, June 30th, from 4 – 7 p.m., at the Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 1st, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Morris, Indiana, with Rev. Shaun Whittington officiating. Memorials may be made to the Margaret Mary Health Foundation Hospice or to St. Anthony Church.  (www.weigelfh.com)

God’s Bright Treasures Ministry is collecting 7,500 pairs of shoes to raise funds for our center, to help those in need and to keep shoes from going into the landfills. We are asking for the community’s help to accomplish this. We have already collected 2,600 pairs so far! God’s Bright Treasures is a non-profit child care facility in Bright, Indiana. We have a shoe collection box at the business of Quality Auto Mart at 7307 St. Rd. 46 E., Batesville, IN 47041 or they can bring their shoes to our location at 25365 State Line Road, Bright, IN 47025. Please clean out your unwanted, gently worn, used shoes and donate them. Efforts to help ensure a sufficient blood supply for patients during the holiday season are underway. Patients don’t get a holiday from needing donated blood! How to donate blood Simply download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental consent in some states), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.   Places to donate: redcross
