Charlotte Hofer

Charlotte Hofer of Brookville, was born on November 24, 1933 in Perry County, Kentucky to Bill and Jessie Clark Deaton. She wed Charles Hofer on December 1, 1950 in Brookville and enjoyed 65 years of marriage. Charlotte was a woman passionate about her family, leaving behind a legacy of loving her family whole-heartedly and enjoying the smallest beauties of life. On Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the age of 82, Charlotte passed away at Reid Hospital in Richmond.
Those surviving who will cherish Charlotte’s memory include husband, Charles Hofer; five children, Karen (Don) Murray of Brookville, Peg (Ron) St. John of West Harrison, John Hofer of Brookville, Janie (Todd) Thompson of Sevierville, TN, and Julie (Jeff) Riedman of Brookville; ten grandchildren, Jennifer Barrett, Jason (Brandi) Murray, Tasha (Kevin) Campbell, Emily (Kevin) Blades, Adam (Sarah) Hofer, Megan (Blake) Marshall, Chrissy St. John, Sarah (Doug) Reinhardt, Anna Thompson, and Mattie Thompson. Twelve great grandchildren also survive, including Alexus Mitchell, Kelsey Barrett, Olivia Barrett, Logan Blades, Jayden Murray, Charlotte Barrett, Elijah Murray, Grant Blades, Riley Barrett, Sydney Campbell, Emma Campbell, and Kaylee Marshall. Besides her parents, two of Charlotte’s ten siblings preceded her in death.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. The funeral service, officiated by Pastor Tom Marshall of Blooming Grove Family Worship Center, is Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
