Charles “Chuck” Levi

Chuck Levi

In a minute life can change. Charles “Chuck” Edward Levi was called home on Saturday, August 20, 2016, only a week after celebrating his 60th birthday.  Chuck was born on August 13, 1956, the son of the late Charles and Lula (Dixon) Levi, in Osgood.  Chuck was 1 of 8 children born to this marriage.  He had spent the majority of his life in the community, only being gone while serving his country.

Chuck was united in marriage on April 30, 1983, to Mary Owens in the United Methodist Church in Osgood.  They were blessed with a son Lance and daughter Kari.

Chuck had worked 33 years at Delta in Greensburg, having worked his way up to Quality Assurance Supervisor, and then worked for an additional 6 years at Honda.

He enjoyed being the handyman and was able to accomplish whatever he set his mind to do.  He might have been a carpenter today and an electrician tomorrow, but he always was able to help whoever needed it.  He loved to sing and play his guitar, learning several songs to sing for his family.  Speaking of family, this was his absolute passion, quick to brag on his kids, and looking forward to the birth of his first grandchild.  He considered his in-laws just like his own parents and gave constant support.

Chuck was a true Christian and was a long-time member of the Osgood Christian Church.  He also was a member of the Greensburg Legion and also a member of Keene-Henneke VFW Post.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; brothers James, Julian, and Lydell; sisters Wanda and JoAnn; special nephews Michael and Rusty Owens.  He is survived by “the love of his life” wife Mary at home; son Lance; daughter Kari; future grandchild; sister Linda Whitaker of South Carolina; brother Calvin Pollard of Canada; brothers-in-law Gene Shick, Mark (Carol) Owens, Rodney (Kelly) Owens, and Michael Owens.  He is also survived by special nieces Kiara, Daisy, and Jade, and his special little buddy Rusty Chase Michael Owen.  He will also be sadly missed by his lap buddy “Skeeter.”

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 25, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home with burial following at Greendale Cemetery in Osgood.

Memorial donations can be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
