Volunteers are need for all-day or half-day butterfly counts at the Big Oaks National Wildlife Reserve. Bring water, bug spray, sunscreen, snacks or lunch and binoculars and meet at the refuge office on Saturday morning August 1 between 7:45 am – 8 am. A $3.00 donation to the North American Butterfly Association for those participating in the count would be appreciated. Survey teams will be divided up based on the length of time you wish to spend in the field. Contact Joe Robb at joe_robb@fws.gov to register.

The Batesville High School Boys’ Soccer Team will be holding a car wash on Saturday, August 1 from 9 am – 1 pm  in the lot behind the McDonald’s in Batesville. Free will donations gratefully accepted for the purchase of team equipment and other needed supplies. Thank you for supporting the team.
