Monday, September 15- noon-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 16- 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 17-Friday, September 19- 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Sunday, September 21- during the annual St. Louis Church Festival, theMock Turtle Soup will be available for sale until it’s gone. Please enter through the Activity Center doors only! The soup will also be available through the week at Schmidt’s Bakery during their normal business hours. If you have any empty quart, half-gallon, or gallon jars you can spare (or canning lids and/or rings), you can bring them to the SLS Activity Center or Schmidt’s Bakery, as jars and lids are still needed to bottle the soup throughout the week.

Four acts to perform with the headliner being The Promise Hero from Cleveland. If you love a great catchy song that gets stuck in your head this band will be right up your alley. The three other acts are solo singer/songwriters. The first being a senior at Batesville High School, Stanley Fryman. Another act is one of the band members of the Promise Hero that calls himself Mute Boy. The last act will be an acoustic artist out of Shelbyville, Eric Montgomery. All ages welcome! This event is great for the teen audience. No drinking or smoking inside the venue, but there are FREE brownies for all attendees. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the concert beginning at 6 p.m. Pre-ordered tickets are $5. Email Anna to get your name on the list! If your name is not on the list the cost is $8 at the door. All proceeds from the event go to the acts and venue to support local music and small bands.

Most people know that the West Coast states are “Earthquake Zones.” But few realize that many states in the East, South and Midwest at a moderate to high risk of being struck by an earthquake. Indiana is a state highlighted in the high risk category.

It is FREE and open to the public.   This session will feature Andrea Haenlin-Mott, the ADA Coordinator for Cornell University, on the topic of “accessible construction management.” Understanding the implications of integrated accessibility in new construction and alteration projects starts at the very beginning stages of concept and site development. This session will discuss these concepts and introduce the Universal Design balance with ADA compliance.

The ECHS prom committee will be sponsoring a tailgating dinner before the game starting at 5 p.m. Tailgating is behind the bleachers on the gravel lot with lots of delicious food for just $2 including: hot dog chips water cookie Parade will begin at 6 p.m. leaving the gravel lot between the softball field. It will travel along Schuman, take a right onto Trojan Place and then enter the parking lot with the grand finale around the track. (The parade route will be closed at this time, if you wish to park for the game follow the detour for HW 46). See you at the East Central Homecoming Parade put on by the student council!

The Annual 21st Crackaway Daze Festival will be held on September 20 – 21 at the Saltcreek Township Park in New Point, Indiana (located 8 miles east of Greensburg or 6 miles west of Batesville on Hwy 46 or south 850 just off of I-74 Exit 143. Park is on left along Hwy 46). Parade at 11:00 am on Saturday. Flea market in the park (contact Rosa at 812-593-7611 or email at rosa@etczone.com). Great food for both days (roast plus more on Saturday). Our famous fried chicken with all the trimmings on Sunday, served by the New Point Kiwanis Club. Homemade ice cream by Smyrna Church. Fun for the kids and adults (bed race, antique cars and trucks and farm equipment, kettle bean soup). Entertainment, drawings (50/50 pot), hot dog stand, snow cones and much more! The Batesville United Methodist Church, in partnership with Margaret Mary Health, will soon be offering a cancer support group whose goal is to ensure access to valuable community resources to those living with cancer. The group will also provide hope, encouragement, education and sanctuary. HOPE will meet on the last Thursday of each month at 5:30 PM at the Batesville United Methodist Church and will feature a guest speaker, time for topic discussion and fellowship. The Batesville community and beyond are invited to attend! The first session is scheduled for Thursday, June 26 and will feature a discussion around the emotional rollercoaster of cancer and the fear of recurrence. Desserts, featuring fresh, local fruits will be presented by Susie Gryspeerdt. Tastings of coffees will be offered by the committee planning the Amack’s Well café. East Central’s Homecoming Parade is bigger than last year’s! The ECHS prom committee will be sponsoring a tailgating dinner before the game starting at 5 p.m. Tailgating is behind the bleachers on the gravel lot with lots of delicious food for just $2 including: hot dog chips water cookie Parade will begin at 6 p.m. leaving the gravel lot between the softball field. It will travel along Schuman, take a right onto Trojan Place and then enter the parking lot with the grand finale around the track. (The parade route will be closed at this time, if you wish to park for the game follow the detour for HW 46). See you at the East Central Homecoming Parade put on by the student council!

The Annual 21st Crackaway Daze Festival will be held on September 20 – 21 at the Saltcreek Township Park in New Point, Indiana (located 8 miles east of Greensburg or 6 miles west of Batesville on Hwy 46 or south 850 just off of I-74 Exit 143. Park is on left along Hwy 46). Parade at 11:00 am on Saturday. Flea market in the park (contact Rosa at 812-593-7611 or email at rosa@etczone.com). Great food for both days (roast plus more on Saturday). Our famous fried chicken with all the trimmings on Sunday, served by the New Point Kiwanis Club. Homemade ice cream by Smyrna Church. Fun for the kids and adults (bed race, antique cars and trucks and farm equipment, kettle bean soup). Entertainment, drawings (50/50 pot), hot dog stand, snow cones and much more! The Batesville United Methodist Church, in partnership with Margaret Mary Health, will soon be offering a cancer support group whose goal is to ensure access to valuable community resources to those living with cancer. The group will also provide hope, encouragement, education and sanctuary. HOPE will meet on the last Thursday of each month at 5:30 PM at the Batesville United Methodist Church and will feature a guest speaker, time for topic discussion and fellowship. The Batesville community and beyond are invited to attend! The first session is scheduled for Thursday, June 26 and will feature a discussion around the emotional rollercoaster of cancer and the fear of recurrence. The Batesville K12 Mascot Run will be held Sept 27th in Liberty Park to benefit the schools. Choose between a 12K, 5K, and 3K Fun Run. Registration begins at 7:30AM and the first race at 8:30AM. Any school with 100 participants receives $500. Remaining proceeds go to Liberty Trails and BCEF Teachers Fund. Come dressed as your favorite mascot or in school spirit wear.
