Registration for programs for the Winter I 2014 session at the Southeastern Indiana YMCA will begin Monday, December 30th for members, and Thursday, January 2nd for potential members. The programs for the Winter I 2014 session will begin on Monday, January 6th.

Margaret Mary Health has partnered with Hoxworth Blood Center, University ofCincinnati to host a Community Blood Drive on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 8:00am to 5:00pm. The Hoxworth Donor Bus will be parked on the hospital lot, located at 321 Mitchell Rd., in Batesville, IN. The
blood drive is in honor of Julia Horninger Every donor will receive a $5.00 McDonald’s Gift Card.

Priority will be given to donors who have scheduled an appointment. Walk-in donors are welcome and will be seen as soon as possible.
“Local blood donors ensure that local patients at 31 area hospitals receive the lifesaving blood products they need to survive,” said Alecia Lipton, Hoxworth spokesperson. “Community blood drives are vitally important and we hope to see a good turnout at the Margaret Mary Health blood drive.”
How to Donate:
Donating blood is safe and easy. Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with a signed parental consent) and in good health. Individuals must weigh at least 110 pounds and bring identification to donate. It is recommended that donors eat a good meal and drink plenty of water within four hours before donating.
Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati, was founded in 1938 and proudly serves 31 hospitals in 17 counties in Southwestern Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeastern Indiana. Annually, Hoxworth collects more than 90,000 units of blood from local donors to help save the lives of patients in area hospitals. At least 350 volunteer blood donors and 40 volunteer platelet donors are essential each day to keep up with the demands of the tri-state hospitals and their patients.
