30th Annual Christmas Walk in Metamora
Nov 29 – Dec 1 all-day

Friday & Saturday until 10 pm; Sunday until 5 pm. Shop opening hours vary from 10 a.m. up to 4 p.m. Mill hours Noon to 9:00 p.m. Combine history, a Currier and Ives scene and the pageantry of Christmas and you have the Metamora Christmas Walk.  Lanterns line the canal and lights and decorations are a plenty throughout the entire village.  Visit Santa the Santa House and get a memorable photo.  Santa is here on Friday and Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. Take a horse and carriage ride through town.  Shop in the many unique shops. Warm up with the many fire barrels located around town.  Metamora is part of a Christmas tradition that residents and visitors alike look forward to year after year. Brookville Eagles to Host Community Blood Drive @ Brookville Eagles

Brookville Eagles has partnered with Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati to host a Community Blood Drive on Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 12:30pm to 6:00pm.  The drive will take at the Brookville Eagles, located at 770 Main St. in Brookville, IN.


To schedule your appointment, please call Hoxworth Blood Center at 1-800-830-1091.  Hoxworth recognizes that blood donors’ time is valuable.  Priority will be given to donors who have scheduled an appointment.  Walk-in donors are welcome and will be seen as soon as possible. 


“Local blood donors ensure that local patients at 31 area hospitals receive the lifesaving blood products they need to survive,” said Alecia Lipton, Hoxworth spokesperson.  “Community blood drives are vitally important and we hope to see a good turnout at the Brookville Eagles blood drive.”


How to Donate:

Donating blood is safe and easy.  Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with a signed parental consent) and in good health.  Individuals must weigh at least 110 pounds and bring identification to donate.  It is recommended that donors eat a good meal and drink plenty of water within four hours before donating.

Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati, was founded in 1938 and proudly serves 31 hospitals in 17 counties in Southwestern Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeastern Indiana.  Annually, Hoxworth collects more than 90,000 units of blood from local donors to help save the lives of patients in area hospitals.  At least 350 volunteer blood donors and 40 volunteer platelet donors are essential each day to keep up with the demands of the tri-state hospitals and their patients.  Hoxworth Blood Center, Our Donors Save Lives.  Who Will You Save?
