TennisThe Batesville Lady Bulldogs defeated Connersville 5-0 in the varsity competition.

Singles
No. 1 – Lydia Olsen def. Sally Wilhoit 6-4, 6-2 No. 2 – Sarah Hoseus def. Halley Crum 6-0, 6-0 No. 3 – Ally Ritter def. Emiley Fox 6-0, 6-0

Doubles
No. 1 – Brooke Bradford/Kelli Hartman def. Brittany Gabbard/Caitlyn Boggs 6-4, 6-2 No. 2 – Macy Simon/Karsen Worthington def. Olivia Holm/Shelby Brown 6-2, 6-1

The junior varsity posted a 6-1 victory over the Lady Spartans.
Winning singles matches for the Lady Bulldogs were Erin Longstreth, Alana Pinckley and Jenna Harmeyer. Doubles winners were Grace Heppner/Gabby Cooper, Anna Kick/Julia Hunter and Becca Reed/Maggie Schwettman.

Both teams are 1-0 on the season.

Family members, caregivers and others interested in Alzheimer’s Disease and/or a related dementia are invited to attend a care and support workshop on Saturdays, July 23 & 30, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Margaret Mary Hospital’s Auditorium in Batesville. The workshop, What Families Need to Know…When the Diagnosis is Alzheimer’s Disease or a Related Dementia, is being offered by the Greater Cincinnati Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.  Topics include the various types of diagnoses; stages and treatments of dementia; strategies to cope with daily challenges such as communication and behaviors; information about legal and financial planning including Advance Directives; and identifying community services such as respite and long-term care. Scheduled speakers and their topics are: July 23:  Dr. Kelly Napier, Clinical Psychologist for Dearborn Co. VA, “The Nature and Progression of the Disease;” and Kristin Cooley, Clinical Social Worker for the Cincinnati Alzheimer’s Association, “Changes in Communication and Behavior.” July 30:  Adrienne Flannery, Elder Law Attorney for Zerbe Garner Blondell & Weldon, LLP, Attorneys-at-Law in Lawrenceburg, “Legal Planning for Families”; and Kristin Cooley, Clinical Social Worker for the Cincinnati Alzheimer’s Association, “Family Coping Strategies and Community Resources.” The program is free of charge and open to the public. [...]
