Bulldogs Ripley County Track Champs

2016 Ripley County Track Meet MVPSThe Ripley County Track Meet took place on Thursday, May 5th, and the Batesville Bulldogs came to win. The boys won every event as the girls fell short in just two events. Final scores for the women were: Batesville 120.5, South Ripley 43, Jac-Cen-Del 37.5 and Milan 37. On the Men’s side, the score was: Batesville 141, Milan 53, South Ripley 35 and Jac-Cen-Del 7.

Batesville also got to crown the meet MVP’s and they were Stephanie Nobbe and John Moody. 27 different Bulldogs got to go home with an individual championship medal around their neck.

Clare Bruns (18.00) and Garrett Wagner (16.02) 100/110 hurdles; 4 x 800 relay teams of Quinten Gowdy, Michael Ripperger, Jackson Wooldridge, and Connor Bell (9:08.35) and Sarah Poltrack, Madeleine Robben, Maria Weseel and Emma Gausman (10:31.14); 4 x 100 relay teams of Garrrett Wagner, Jacob Koehne, John Gerstbauer, Zach Mears (45.68) and Clare Brun, Sophie Meadows, Margan Meyer and Stephanie Nobbe (52.90); 4 x 400 relay teams of Connor Bell, Ian Yorn, Jacob Koehne, John Moody (3:50.14) and Clare Bruns, Madeleine Robben, Alison Muckerheide and Haylee Harmeyer (4:27.18).

County runner up winners were: Melanie Werner and Robert Strobel in pole vault; Kevin Bedel-shot put; Adam Bedel-discus; Grant Meyers-3200m run; Morgan Meyer -200m dash; Sarah Poltrack-800m run; Quinten Gowdy-800m run; Henry Lipinski -300m hurdles; Madeleine Robben and Ian Yorn-400m dash; Michael Ripperger- 1600m run; Sophie Meadows-100m dash; and Trevor Gartenman-110m hurdles.

3rd place finishers were: Kasey Barrett-100m hurdles and 300m hurdles; CJ Thomas -100m dash; Jacob Koehne-200m dash; Maria Wessel-3200m run; John Gerstbauer -long jump; and Samantha Heidlage-shot put.

Coming in 4th were: Hannah Canady-high jump and Alison Muckerheide-long jump.

Finishing out the awards in 5th was: Audrey Maupin.

There were a handful of personal best performances for the night and they were:
Shot Put-Kevin Bedel; Pole Vault-Lexi Hatcher and Melanie Werner; High Jump- Adam Bedel; 200m dash-Stephanie Nobbe; 1600m run-Heidi Shaw; 300 hurdles- Henry Lipinski; and 800m run-Audrey Maupin.

At the conclusion of the meet, Batesville honored its 13 Seniors and they were: Kevin Bedel, Connor Bell, John Gerstbauer, Jacob Koehne, Zach Mears, John Moody, Tim Tunny, Clare Bruns, Audrey Hall, Lexi Hatcher, Samanthan Heidlage, Heidi Shaw, Maria Wessel. Best of Luck to all as they all pursue college degrees next year.

The Bulldogs get a week off as they will now prepare for the Conference meet which will be held at East Central High School next Thursday.
