Bulldogs Ripley County Track Champs

Track & FieldCongratulations to the Batesville Bulldog Track and Field team as both the men and the women claimed the County Championship Title tonight. The scores were close to the same for both teams. The men scored 124 points to Milan’s 46, South Ripley came in close 3rd at 41 points and Jac-Cen-Del-27. The women scored 123 points to Jac-Cen-Del’s 46, South Ripley-35 and only one point behind with 34 points, Milan.

Despite the hot temperatures, there were many great performances and Batesville was also announced with the MVP awards. Peter Heil was the men’s overall MVP, winning all three of his individuals events, 110 and 300 hurdles (16.23 and 42.86) and long jump (19’10.5″). On the women’s side, Batesville’s Kelsey Gausman shared the MVP crown with Jac-Cen-Del’s Kelsey Bowling. Kelsey was on both the winning 4 x 800 relay and 4 x 400 relay and won the 800 (2:38.88) and the 1600m run (5:47.97). Congratulations Pete and Kelsey!

The Bulldogs were also able to crown all 6 relay teams and 15
different individuals as County Champions. Individually, besides Peter and Kelsey, here is the list of the other individual champions:
