Bulldogs, Pirates, and Lions Win Girls Tennis Sectional Crowns

TennisCongratulations to The Batesville Lady Bulldogs, Greensburg Lady Pirates, and Rushville Lady Lions on winning Girls Sectional Titles this Weekend!

Batesville captured The South Dearborn Sectional Championship.  The Lady Bulldogs won over The Oldenburg Academy Lady Twisters 4-1 to win the crown.  Batesville shut out East Central 5-0 and Oldenburg Academy won 4-1 against The Milan Lady Indians during the Semi-Finals on Friday Night to advance on to The Sectional Finals.

Greensburg was winners as they hosted their Sectionlas.  The Friday Semi-Finals saw The Lady Pirates blanked The Madison Lady Cubs 5-0 while the Southwestern Lady Rebels outduel The Shawe Memorial Lady Hilltoppers 4-1.  Greensburg won the crown with a close 3-2 won over SW.

Rushville captured The Connersville Sectional Chanpionship with a 4-1 win over the host Lady Spartans on Friday Night.

The Lady Bulldogs defeated Oldenburg Academy 4-1 Saturday morning to win the sectional title at South Dearborn.

Coming off a 5-0 victory over East Central on Friday, the Lady Bulldogs claimed the sectional title less than 24 hours later.

No.1 singles – Sarah Hoseus lost to Sarah Wilder 6-3 and 6-3.
No. 2 singles – Lydia Olsen defeated Molly Rippe 6-0 and 6-1.
No. 3 singles – Allyson Ritter defeated Ashley Sedler 6-0 and 6-2.
No. 1 doubles – Kelli Hartman and Brooke Bradford defeated Ella Lamping and Claire Dickey 6-3 and 6-2.
No. 2 doubles – Macy Simon and Karsen Worthington defeated Ivy Glaser and Margaret Glaser 6-1 and 6-1.

The Lady Bulldogs are now 13-4 on the season and will play at the Richmond Regional on Tuesday. They are scheduled to play Rushville at 4:30 PM.

The Lady Pirates will play at the Bloomington South Regional on Tuesday to take on Bloomington North starting at 5 PM.
