Bulldogs Freshman Team Wraps Up Season Winners

Football 50 Yard LineBatesville Freshman Football team ended their season with a record of 3-4 with a win vs Connersville.

Batesville was on top early going up 22-0 in the first quarter.  Hunter Hon provided the first score of the game with a 3 yard TD run. After an interception by Safety Drew McLeod, Luke Schroeder scored from 35 yards. Garren Williamson added the 2 point conversion with a catch from QB Eric Harmeyer. Schroeder added another TD, this time from 43 yards out. Christian Prickel added the 2pt conversion to give the Bulldogs a 22-0 lead.

However, the Spartans rallied to come all the way back and tied the game at 22 at half. Luke Schroeder once again scored for his 3rd TD of the game from 15 yards out to give the Bulldogs a 28-22 lead. THe defense stepped up with a goal line stand and swarm of defenders led by linebacker Logan Mears. The Bulldogs sealed the game with a 92 yard TD drive. Christian Prickel, Hunter Hon, and Schroeder all added key runs for first downs. Jack Kellerman put the nail in the coffin with a 23 yard TD catch from Harmeyer to make the final score 34-22.

Defensively, Josh Maple, Hunter Hon, Eykis Fullenkamp, and McLeod were also key contributors for the defense.
