Wyatt Schebler shut down New Palestine while he was on the bump. Schebler held New Palestine hitless over 2 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

Andy Edwards got it done on the mound on the way to a win. He allowed three runs over five innings. Edwards struck out three, walked four and gave up five hits.

Brett Westerfeld ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed seven runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.

The top of the second saw the Bulldogs take an early lead, 1-0.

New Palestine survived the Bulldogs’ surge and put up one run of its own in the second. New Palestine scored on an RBI single by Wes McBride.

New Palestine didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring five runs in the fourth inning when it scored on a groundout by Braden Roberts and an RBI triple by Keegan Watson.

After pushing across one run in the top of the seventh, the Bulldogs faced just a 7-4 deficit. An RBI single by Westerfeld fueled the Bulldogs’ comeback. But it was not enough to overcome the Dragons.
