Bulldogs CC Teams Participate At Ben Davis Invitational

Cross CountryThe Batesville Cross Country team traveled to Indianapolis this weekend to race in a very competitive Invitational at Ben Davis High School.

There were over 20 teams there with over 1/4 of them ranked in the top 20. It was almost perfect weather for running and Batesville took advantage of it as 13 of the 21 Bulldogs that competed ran a personal best. Both teams finished in a very respectable 13th place for the men and 12th place for the women.

Top runners for the men were Caleb Moster and Connor Bell finishing in the top 30 and breaking the 17:00 barrier. Caleb crossed the finish line in 26th place at a speed of 16:50 and Connor right behind him in 30th place at 16:53. Both of these are overall personal bests. Also scoring for the dogs were Quinten Gowdy, 75th and Jackson Wooldridge, 116th both running a personal record and Elliott Main, 117th.

On the ladies side, Mary Poltrack led the way in 46th place with a time of 20:27. Coming in second for the dogs and running a personal best by over 45 seconds was Emma Gausman crossing the line at 58th place with a time of 20:44. Following Emma was Maria Wessel in 74th place, closely followed by Audrey Weigel in 76th place and beating her personal record by almost a minute. Sarah Poltrack
finished the scoring for the ladies in 90th place. Other Bulldogs running personal bests for the day were: Derek Nobbe, Will Sittloh (by over a 1.5 minutes), Madeleine Robben, Audrey Maupin, (by about a 1:15) Cheyenne Laker (by 1:30), Carley Fitzpatrick
(by over a minute) and Kate Poltrack (by an incredible 3:05)!
