Area Middle School Basketball Games

Basketball HoopsBatesville 7th Grade defeated Brookville Middle School 33-25.

Trey Heidlage led all scores with 11 points while Sam Haskamp and Cooper Williams addd 4, and 6 others added 2 points.  Austin Siefert was the team leader with 2 assists.  Tyler Myers and Cooper Williams led the team with 5 rebounds while Sam Haskamp added 4.  Lane Oesterling led the team with 4 steals with Heidlage and Williams adding 3 each.  Oesterling also led the team with 2 deflections while Alex Westerfeld also added 2.

BMS will be in action Monday night @ Greensburg.

The 8th grade Bulldogs lost a very close game last night against the Franklin County Travel Team by a score of 41-39.

1st Q – 16-8 FC; 2nd Q – 25-18 FC; 3rd Q. – 33-33.

Isaac Barker led the team with 23 points. Lane Westerfeld had a solid game with 7 points and Luke Schroeder did well with 6 points.

The Dogs had good effort and considering the (3) missed practices due to bad weather, we were competitive against a more physical, stronger Franklin County team.

The Saint Louis 7th Grade Basketball team was defeated by Sunman Dearborn by the score of 37-17. The Cardinals played well but were simply over-matched by the size and strength of Sunman Dearborn.

Robert Raver led the Cardinals in scoring, steals, and blocked shots while Kevin Salatin led Saint Louis in rebounding.

The St. Louis 8th grade boys basketball team returned to action Thursday night for the first in almost two weeks.  It was 8th Grade Night as the Cardinals played Sunman-Dearborn in their final home game of the season.  The Trojans proved too much for St. Louis, however, defeating the Cardinals 52-21.

Stuart Lamping and Chandler Meyers led the team offensively, scoring 11 and 8 points respectively.  Jack Kellerman added some steals and played well defensively.  Gavin Koester came off the bench and hustled defensively, forcing 3 turnovers against S-D.

The Cardinals play their final regular season game on Tuesday, 1/14 vs. St. Nicholas (game will be played at Milan Elementary).
