Brenda Diane (Dillon) Stanfield

Brenda Diane (Dillon) Stanfield, age 70, of Pleasant, Indiana, entered this life on February 2, 1943, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of the late, Gerald Edgar & Lucy (Bewley) Dillon. She was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she attended Ben Davis High School. Brenda was united in marriage in 1964, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Thomas Stanfield. Brenda was a former Bakery Manager for Standard Grocery in Indianapolis, Indiana, for several years. She was also employed as a Checkpoint Supervisor for the Indianapolis International Airport in Indianapolis, Indiana, retiring in 2001, after several years of service. Brenda had resided in the Pleasant Community since the past year. Brenda was a devoted mother, grandmother & sister. Brenda died at 6:46 pm, Saturday, February 1, 2014, at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

Brenda will be missed by her daughter: Vicki Couch of Canaan, IN; her grandchildren: Kris Stanfield of Pleasant, IN, Kasey Couch of East Enterprise, IN; her great-grandchildren: Macey Couch, Haylee Couch & Kaylee Couch; her brothers: Maurice Dillon of Pittsboro, IN, Melvin Dillon of Indianapolis, IN; her several nieces & nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents: Gerald Edgar & Lucy (Bewley) Dillon; her sisters: Betty Randall, Loretta Green & Doris Dillon; her brother: William Dillon.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 6, 2014, at 1:00 pm, by Rev. Ron Lee, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Cemetery, Pleasant, Indiana.

Friends may call 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Thursday, February 6, 2014, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Memorial contributions may be made to Funeral Expenses. Cards are available at the funeral home.

St. Louis Catholic Church is having their Mock Turtle Soup Sale! Monday, September 15- noon-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 16- 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 17-Friday, September 19- 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Sunday, September 21- during the annual St. Louis Church Festival, theMock Turtle Soup will be available for sale until it’s gone. Please enter through the Activity Center doors only! The soup will also be available through the week at Schmidt’s Bakery during their normal business hours. If you have any empty quart, half-gallon, or gallon jars you can spare (or canning lids and/or rings), you can bring them to the SLS Activity Center or Schmidt’s Bakery, as jars and lids are still needed to bottle the soup throughout the week.
