FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ind. – A shooting that happened in Laurel Tuesday morning has now become a death investigation.
59-year-old Dwight Jones, of Laurel, died Wednesday from injuries sustained in the shooting, state police confirm.
A Franklin County deputy told us Jones was found inside of a pickup suffering from a gunshot wound that occurred at 110 Edgerton Street.
Jones was rushed to Fayette Regional Health System before being flown to St. Vincent’s in Indianapolis.
Police say the investigation is ongoing as detectives are following up on multiple leads in what is believed to be an isolated incident.
