Bernice Sparks

Bernice Sparks, of Brookville, was born on October 7, 1923 in Kentucky, the daughter of Daniel and Laura Baker.  She was married to A.B. Sparks who preceded her in death.  Bernice spent her life as a homemaker and loved to quilt and garden.  She was also a member of Brookville’s Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #449.  On Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the age of 92, Bernice passed away at Brookville Healthcare Center. 

Those surviving who will honor her memory include sons, Jerry (Judy) Sparks and Mike Sparks, both of Cross Plains, TN, and daughter, Jean (Jim) Prifogle of Brookville; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and brothers, Calvin Baker of Fairfield, OH, Jack Baker of Richmond, KY, and Roger Baker of Northern Kentucky.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter; Betty Sacksteder, son; Jimmy Sparks; sisters, Emma Johnson, Effie Sizemore, Mary Riley, Lil Kenton, Jessie Shields, and brother, James Baker. 

Friends may visit with the family on Monday, March 21, 2016 from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. Services, officiated by Pastor Jim Webster will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
