Batesville Wrestling Semi-State Results

TWrestlinghe Batesville High School Wrestling team was able to send one wrestler to the 2015 Wrestling Semi-State Tournament held at New Castle.

Senior Captain, Will Amberger, represented The Bulldogs at this year’s semi-state tournament in the 195 lb class. Amberger’s first match was against Tyler Smith of Roncalli where he won by an impressive 10-1 decision earning three takedowns to add to his single season record. The next opponent for Amberger came from Zionsville’s Scott Fuller. Amberger faced off against Fuller in his second match where he injured his knee leaving him defenseless against Fuller. Amberger battled through the first period but the painful knee injury was too much for Amberger to defend off the attacks from Fuller resulting in a loss.

This final match was the end of a great season for Amberger where he became a conference, sectional, and regional champ and also broke the long-standing single season takedown record.
