Batesville Police: Heroin Found, Arrest Made

Batesville Police arrested a Dearborn County man for heroin possession following a traffic stop.

Officer Mike Manus responded to a report of an intoxicated driver exiting I-74 at the Batesville exit on Sunday Dec. 22 around 7:45 p.m. The vehicle was located in the Dairy Queen parking lot.

After suspected drugs in the vehicle, Officer Manus requested Sgt. Danny Hamilton to respond with his K-9 partner Jinx.

According to Batesville Police Chief Stan Holt, The K-9 alerted on the vehicle and heroin was located.

Jon Knowles, 39, of Lawrenceburg, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, a class D Felony. He was booked into the Ripley County Jail.
