Batesville Man Could Be Charged For Hunting Infractions

A tip to conservation officers launched an investigation into alleged illegal deer hunting activities by a Batesville man.

45-year-old David Grieshop is accused of being complicit in the illegal possession of at least eight antlered deer. Each infraction is a class B misdemeanor.

Indiana DNR regulations limit Hoosier hunters to the harvest of one buck per season.

DNR officials said the illegal hunting practices by Grieshop, as well as a minor, could lead to eighteen separate violations. The involvement by a minor could lead to delinquency of a minor charge against Grieshop, a class A misdemeanor, according to conservation authorities.

Charges are pending with the Franklin County Prosecutors Office.
