Batesville man arrested on domestic, drug charges

BATESVILLE, Ind. – A Batesville man was arrested on multiple charges following a domestic dispute on Wednesday, November 19.

Batesville officers received a report from a female stating she fled a Main Street residence after being beaten up by her boyfriend, David Hermesch, 43, of Batesville.

“The victim further reported being confined against her will at the residence during the altercation,” Batesville Police Chief Stan Holt said.

Investigators say they suspected illegal drugs were present at the residence and received a warrant from the Ripley County Superior Court authorizing a search.

A search allegedly revealed approximately three quarters of a pound of marijuana along with drug paraphernalia.

Hermesch has been charged on suspicion of Criminal Confinement, a level 5 felony, Domestic Battery, a class A misdemeanor, Possession of Marijuana, a class B misdemeanor, and Possession of Paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor.
