Batesville A.D.

May 1, 2014

As you probably have heard by now, Bryan Helvie is the new athletic director at Batesville High School.  He will replace the retiring Mark Ferguson on July 1.  Bryan has been part of  Batesville Athletics for most of the years he has been a resident of Batesville.  He is currently coaching the girls tennis team.

When Bryan takes over on July 1, he will become a full-time employee of Batesville Community Schools.  He will no longer be allowed to continue his coaching because of the total commitment it takes to run a school’s athletic program.  Bryan will also give up his position of varsity assistant to the boys basketball team.

Most of you probably know Bryan as the managing editor of the Herald-Tribune.  When Bryan arrived in Batesville there was not a teaching position open in his area, so he took a job with the Herald and he has been with them ever since.  Best of luck, Bryan, on  your new venture.
