Author has bullying message for Franklin Co. students

BROOKVILLE, Ind. – A New York Times best-selling author visits Franklin County High School Friday as part of a nationwide tour to speak out against bullying.

Jay Asher wrote the gripping novel “Thirteen Reasons Why” which shines a light on bullying and its painful and tragic consequences.

The high school is the only Indiana stop on Asher’s 50 States Against Bullying Tour.

This is the second well-known author to visit the school since October.

Paige Rawl, 20, was at FCHS last month sharing her story. She was born HIV-positive and was the victim of excessive bullying which was featured in her book “Positive.”

Rawl told us that Asher was a major inspiration for her.

She is a guest on NBC’s Today Show this morning.
