43rd Annual EMS Week

Batesville, Ind. — This week is the 43rd Annual Emergency Medical Services Week.

EMS workers have become an integral, life-saving part of the team of first responders. EMS practitioners play a vital role in saving lives in the event of heart attacks, drug overdoses, strokes, falls, difficulty breathing and accidents.

Mobile integrated technology has made EMS workers an important part of the continuum of care needed when seconds count.

EMS Week was first designated by President Gerald Ford and intended to bring the professionals and community together to honor their skills and dedication.
