Charles Richard (Dick) Crider, 78 of Milan passed away Friday October 11, 2013 at his residence. Charles was born Monday August 19, 1935 in Aurora, IN the son of Carl and Jennie (Whiteford) Crider. He married Wanda Crider who preceded him in death and later married Roberta (Montgomery) Crider September 17, 1995 and she survives.  Charles was a Veteran of the Marines for 12 years, he also worked for the Cincinnati Post Office for 23 years and he worked for Argosy as a security guard for 12 years.  Charles was attending The Milan First Baptist Church. Charles belonged to the Aurora Moose Lodge, American Legion Post 231, Masons, and he was a Scout leader for the Boy Scouts all in Aurora.  Charles loved to travel, read, and he was a history and WWII movie buff and he liked watching sports and spending time with his family and friends.      

Charles is survived by wife:  Roberta Crider of Milan; Sons: Richard M. Crider of St. Petersburg, FL, Jonah R. Crider of Milan; Daughters: Vela (Bill) Curry of Naples, FL; Robin (Steve) Chase of Aurora; Brothers: Carl Keith Crider, David Crider, Michael Crider all from Aurora; Sister: Erma Schuman of Cincinnati, OH.  3 Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Grandchild; Charles was preceded in death by first wife Wanda Crider, one sister Ann Hall.    

Funeral services for Charles will be 1PM Tuesday October 15 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan with Pastor Harris Long and Tom Reid officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in Aurora; with military rites from the Aurora American Legion Post #231.  Visitation will be 5-8PM Monday at the funeral home; Masonic service will be 7:45PM Monday.  Memorials may be made in his name to The Milan First Baptist Church.  Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.  707 S. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental consent in some states), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.
