Batesville Native, Mike Fleck

In a recent edition of the Ball State Alumni Magazine, Mike Fleck (Ball State Golf Coach) was featured. Mike has been the head coach of the program since 1998.  He replaced his head coach who had been at the university for 36 years.

When school starts this fall, Mike will begin his 19th season as head coach.  In that time, his teams have won 17 tournament titles and during the 2012-13 season they participated in the NCAA Tournament.

Mike is a graduate of Batesville High School in the class of 1989.  He won 4 letters in golf at Batesville and then 2 more letters at Ball State where he graduated in 1992.  He was the Cardinal’s leading golfer that year.  While at BHS, Mike also ran track for me.  His golf coach allowed him to double up with golf and track.  Mike was a good athlete and nice young man.  I am happy to see that he has been so successful.
