2016 Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships

SwimmingEast Central High School played host to the 2016 Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday and Saturday. The EC boys came away with the conference title while the girls finished in third place.

Girls Team Scores:  Greensburg 81, Batesville 75, East Central 66, Connersville 62, South Dearborn 27, Lawrenceburg 17, and Rushville 2.

Boys Team Scores:  East Central 105, Connersville 93, Greensburg 67, South Dearborn 27, Batesville 18, Lawrenceburg 15, and Rushville 5.

AquaTrojan Individual scorers were:  Kim Gray, 5th 200 Freestyle; Felicity Wray, 6th 200 Freestyle; Alexis deLong, 1st 200 IM, 1st 100 Butterfly; Lydia Weber, 5th 200 IM, 3rd 500 Freestyle; Olivia Nixon, 3rd 50 Freestyle, 3rd 100 Freestyle; Ashley Bortlein, 5th 50 Freestyle, 6th 100 Freestyle; Emily Betts, 2nd Diving; Marley Muhlada, 6th Diving; Michaela Cassidy, 5th 100 Breaststroke; Jacob Weber, 1st 200 Freestyle, 1st 100 Backstroke; Cai Fox, 5th 200 Freestyle, 2nd 500 Freestyle; Alex Ketcham, 1st 200 IM, 1st 100 Breaststroke; Chandler Witte, 2nd 200 IM, 4th 100 Breaststroke; Jakob Paff, 3rd 50 Freestyle, 4th 100 Freestyle; Ethan Ayers Edds, 2nd Diving; Noah Arnold, 5th Diving; Dustin Schantz, 1st 100 Butterfly; Alex Pruitt, 6th 100 Freestyle; and Klay Shipman, 5th 100 Breaststroke.

EC also won 3 relays.  Boys 200 Medley Relay (Jacob Weber, Klay Shipman, Dustin Schantz, Alex Pruitt); Girls 200 Freestyle Relay (Ashley Bortlein, Olivia Nixon, Michaela Cassidy, Alexis deLong); and Boys 200 Freestyle Relay (Jakob Paff, Jacob Weber, Dustin Schantz, Alex Ketcham).

Special Congratulations goes out to Alexis deLong, Alex Ketcham, and Jacob Weber for being named the 2016 EIAC Most Valuable Swimmers.
