JENNINGS COUNTY, Ind. – A Columbus woman was killed after a two-automobile car on S.R. 7 in Jennings County Thursday morning.

34-year-old Leslie Anna Gentry was traveling southbound when her vehicle crossed the centerline, investigators said.

Her vehicle struck a flat-bed truck operated by Leonard Meek, 77, of North Vernon.

Police say Meek attempted to avoid the oncoming vehicle prior to the collision.

Gentry was pronounced dead at the scene. Meek was treated for bruising.

Authorities say they are still unsure what caused the vehicle to travel across the centerline.

The crash caused the flat-bed to lose grain all over the roadway and the highway was closed for several hours.
